Introduction ienjoy sound is a type of cochlear implant used to transmit sound to the brain. ienjoy sound is utilized cllinically in treating deaf persons and helping them to communicate freely. ienjoy sound consists of components that function in a manner similar to the human auditory system. The external hardware includes the Sound Processing Unit (SPU) and power supply. The surgically implanted device is the internal Receiving Unit (IRU).
The SPU has directional microphone to receive sound, a processor to transform sound to electrical signals, and a transmitter to send the output of the processor through the skin. The Internal Receiving Unit below the skin is composed of a receiver coil and electrodes to transmit the sound signal to the human auditory system. |
